ABOUT CRYOTHERAPY

Whole Body Cryotherapy

During a Cryotherapy session the body is exposed to ultra-low temperatures, down to (-110° C/-230° F). The client is placed in our XR cryochamber for a short duration of 2-3 minutes,  during this time the client’s skin surface temperature is lowered significantly, stimulating skin receptors.

This method was first utilized in Japan in 1978 to treat rheumatoid arthritis. Studies conducted over the last two decades in Europe have established Cryotherapy as a powerful treatment for a broad range of inflammatory disorders, bodily injuries and conditions. WBC purifies the blood, increases the body’s nutrient flow, and removes toxins from the system. By increasing the rate at which purified blood circulates through the body, the rate at which soft tissues and joints can heal is maximized.

Professional athletes have discovered Cryotherapy as a powerful treatment to decrease recovery time and increase athletic performance. Although Cryotherapy originated in Japan, it was a group of Polish scientists who developed the Process and made Cryotherapy the well established physical therapy tool it is today. The Olympic Sports Centre in Spala opened in May 2000, Cryotherapy is used in this facility during training and injury rehabilitation for many athletes. In the past 3-5 years, numerous professional sports franchises have installed Cryotherapy saunas and chambers in their training facilities.
